I can usually give you an estimate based on your description and perhaps some pictures sent (WhatsApp is by far best for me) I can also give a maximum price which wont change (unless exceptional issues arise) so you can be confident about the limits of your liability.

Simon came and helped us out immensely with a very long list of to-dos. He is responsive and prompt and put in a very full day with us ! His whole approach and attitude was great. He helped bespoke adjust and fit an off-the-shelf Flexi cupboard to fit our small alcove space. He also fitted a proper shelving system in a hall cupboard, he repaired a damaged stair rail, refitted an oven that was wrongly installed, plus he bespoke tailored some ikea shelves - including angle grinding new ends ! - as well as hanging a mammoth TV and rehanging badly fitted curtain rails. Plus other shelving etc. In fact too many tasks to list them all. Some of the things really needed us to put our thinking caps on and Simon is very flexible and adaptable in the solutions he came up with. Simon fixed cabinets to walls, cleared gutters, deweeded and most importantly repaired my outdoor clothes drying shelter. That piece of work was in a tight space, with pre-existing structures to deal with and he needed to be able to deal with something he had not planned for or done before. Absolutely great thinker on his feet who did an amazing job. Very professional and great to talk to. I'm going to call on him every year for general repairs.
