A Wedding Dress Display case

A client asked for a display case for her wedding dress. The remit was for oak, glass and low voltage lighting and to make the most of the space. The design was then left to me. After getting client approval, I started the build ready for assembly in the clients dressing room.

The design of the dress really lent itself to a display unit fitted between facing wardrobes. The base and pillars were made from American white oak and finished with a couple of coats of OSMO oil to bring out the beautiful grain.

The lighting was linked into the lighting for the room so that they all came on switched from one place.

Once the oak and toughened glass had been fitted, I added some low voltage lighting LED strips on the rear of the front spindles to light the dress. It certainly created an amazing display.

I feel I am ready for the Victoria and Albert museum! 😂
