Providing my services while maintaining social distancing is a problem for many tradesmen. Asking a client to remain out of the room in which you are working is the recommendation from the government. Alternatively, while the sun shines, indoor work can be done outdoors!
So here, one of my regular clients in Histon had a job list waiting for me which included some furniture assembly. It was a beautiful day, so I set up in the garden and got to it.
Once the furniture was done, I moved into a couple of garden planters (no points for the shadow animals bottom right!). These planters needed sanding back ready for the client to paint with her choice of protective wood stain.
Finally, she asked me to fit trellis into the existing garden fencing. The existing fence finished about waist height and for a little more privacy and to deter her cats from escaping, I fitted these brackets into the slotted fence posts. These brackets made from galvanised sheet metal, slip down inside the slot in the post between the post and the panel. This then serves two purposes, it stops any rattle of the panels in the posts and also provides a secure fixing for the trellis.
The last panel had been shortened to finish off the run, so I had to cut and remake the final trellis panel to fit. But it was a really neat way to improve the existing fence line.
