Mirrors and pictures are a very common job I am asked to help with. Often it is a case of using simple hammer in lightweight fixings to put up small light pictures. Sometimes however things get tricky when there are large heavy pictures to be fixed into less than perfect walls.
I am sometimes asked to hang heavy framed mirrors or pictures onto very light plasterboard walls or very old walls made from traditional materials such as lath & plaster.
This is where having the equipment & specialist fixings as well as an understanding of building methods really helps.
This is a good example of a tricky job to get this huge mirror central and at the correct level.
The brickwork behind was very old and crumbly so needed some careful planning to get a good secure fixing.
This is a second example for the sort of work I have experience of completing for a client. This very old building retained some of the original lath & plaster walls which made fixing this mirror a challenge.
Specialist fixings and some careful planning resulted in a solid & secure fixing.
Similar was done to fix the grandfather clock to the wall too!
